Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At age 27, he entered the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he was graduated in the year 1995. Apart from his role in the drama series "The Killing as well as his appearance in Borgen III, a Danish drama series. He also had a prominent part in the BBC drama Sherlock in which he played blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. He was Russia's president on the American television show House of Cards. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his performance in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was shown in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm.In addition to his native Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English, and he has mastered diverse accents. According to Mikkelsen's statement, he was taught English from his older brother by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching the comedy sketches.
